Alex never really believed in God. He figured when he was older, he would find out what Christianity was all about. It wasn’t worth worrying about now. Then a friend from the soccer team invited him to a Christian Fellowship group led by Campus Life Private Schools. He got more involved throughout the year, his friend invited him to camp.
In 2023, Alex went to Kiawah Island Camp. As he heard the gospel presented throughout the week, Alex wondered if there was more to Christianity than he’d realized. That school year, he started seeking God. As he attended each Christian Fellowship meeting, he asked questions and dove into Scripture. But he continued to wrestle with the idea of God being real. “Does a God so great even care about someone like me?” Alex wondered.
Alex went to Kiawah again in 2024. On the last night, the speaker extended an invitation for students to commit their lives to Jesus. With his eyes closed, Alex prayed: “God, if you’re real, please give me a sign.” In that moment, a ladybug landed on his arm. As he watched it crawl around, Alex realized how much care God put into a tiny ladybug and how much more He must care about His people. That night, Alex surrendered his life to Christ.
As Alex finished his senior year, he took up a leadership role within his small group and went on to be an active member in the Christian Fellowship Group at The Ohio State University, where he reaches his peers for Christ. We praise God for using Youth for Christ as an instrument in Alex’s story and look forward to seeing how God continues to work in his life!
